Each tool is built for its own kind of file, with format-specific handling rather than one generic uploader.
Video → text. Drop an MP4, WebM, MOV, or MKV and get a transcript with optional timestamps. The audio is extracted and transcribed entirely on your device, so even a large recording never uploads.
Audio → text. Turn recordings into transcripts — MP3, M4A, WAV, or an iPhone voice memo. Speech recognition runs locally with word-level timing you can export as subtitles.

The two tools that use our server — and exactly what they send
We want to be precise about the one place the "nothing leaves your device" rule bends, so you are never surprised.
Two tools work from a URL you paste rather than a file, and a URL cannot be resolved inside your browser. So for these two — and only these two — the link you paste goes to our server:
- YouTube transcript sends the video URL so we can fetch that video's existing caption track through an API. We fetch caption text only. No video or audio is ever downloaded, re-hosted, or stored by us.
- Website to Markdown sends the page URL so our server can fetch the page and convert it to clean Markdown.
In both cases what travels is the URL you typed, not a file from your device. Every other tool on the site — all the audio, video, image, and document converters — runs fully in your browser with no upload at all. The privacy page spells out exactly what is sent, what is stored, and for how long.
How it works

Conversion runs in your browser
A converter loads in a background worker on your device and turns your file into text locally. The first run downloads a small model once — cached for every visit after, even offline.
Copy or download the text
The result appears in an editable pane. Copy it to your clipboard or download it as plain text — or as SRT/VTT subtitles for timed media. Close the tab and there is nothing to clean up.
